Orange County School District officials and State officials are upset over the Orange County Board of Supervisors response to the stalled negotiations to return the $48 million in VLF fees that were swiped to fund the Governor’s budget balancing plan.
Jose Solorio tried and failed to get the state legislature to restore the $48 million that was lifted from our collective pocket books to help balance the state budget. the Orange County Board of Supervisors voted yesterday to hire some lawyers to take the state to court and try to get our money back that way.
Orange County legislators introduced a bill (ABX1 36) today that would overturn a provision in the recently signed budget bill (SB 89) that reneges on a pledge by the state to provide Orange County with $48 million in vehicle license fees.
