Another potential giveaway of hundreds of millions of dollars in city assets and future revenue was launched last night by the Chamber of Commerce controlled City Council majority of members Murray, Eastman, Kring and Brandman.
Over the weekend, violence broke out in an Anaheim neighborhood after the office involved shooting death of 25-year-old Manuel Angel Diaz of Santa Ana. Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait was quick to respond: “I’m asking for a full investigation,” Tait said at a Sunday news conference. “Transparency is essential. Whatever the truth is, we will own it.”

This past week, the ACLU, representing Amin David, Jose Moreno (who is an ACSD Trustee) and Consuelo Garcia announced they were suing the city of Anaheim, claiming the current way the City Council is elected shuts out minority representation. They also point out four of the five councilmembers live in Anaheim hills, which contains only 1/6 of the city’s total population.
