Has the OC Sheriff’s Race Narrowed?

UPDATED: A new poll from Lewis Consulting shows that incumbent Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens is locked in a dead heat with challenger Bill Hunt, a retired sheriff deputy. Hutchens polled at 21 percent, followed closely by Hunt at 20 percent in a sampling of 400 voters taken between April 23-26.

Hunt Scores Deputy Sheriff’s Endorsement

The Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs (AOCDS) announced today that they have chosen to endorse retired Lt. Bill Hunt for election this June as Orange County Sheriff-Coroner. The decision came after a vote this week of their general membership.

Team Hutchens Gets All Puffed Up

In response to the Orange County Employees Association (OCEA) asking its members if they might be interested in a brief collective work stoppage, Under Sheriff John Scott sent a memo out to all OCEA represented department members. He instituted a new policy, effective immediately, that any employee represented by OCEA who calls in sick must have a doctor’s note to return to work.
