Adam Elmahrek reporting for Voice of OC revealed last Friday that there is some hope that Labor agreements with the Service Employees and Police unions will help fill the $30 million budget hole that former City Manager Dave Ream drove the City of Santa Ana into earlier this year.
“I am honored to have the support of Santa Ana law enforcement,†said Rep. Sanchez. “In Congress, I have always fought to get our police officers the tools and resources they need to combat crime in our neighborhoods. Working together, we will continue to improve the quality of life for local families.â€
The action comes just days after the Santa Ana Police Officers’ Association withdrew its support of Hunt, a former sheriff’s lieutenant running on a law and order platform. Santa Ana officers were angered that Hunt was on the defense team of a reported F-Troop gang member awaiting trial on attempted robbery charges.
