It seems his former boss and mentor, former Assemblyman Van Tran last year’s failed challenger to Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, won’t be getting a rematch, if the newest Congressional District visualizations make the final cut.
On Saturday, U. S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis blazed a trail through the cities of Orange and Anaheim in support of organized labor candidates and Congresswoman Sanchez. Solis’ first stop was the Orange County Labor Federation’s lunch time rally at the IBEW Local 441 Union hall. Solis rallied the 475 volunteers on hand to continue their efforts for labor supportive candidates in Orange County.
Local Police & Firefighters today announced Phu Nguyen is their recommendation for the 68th Assembly seat at a press conference in Costa Mesa. Today’s endorsement for Nguyen, a small businessman and entrepreneur is the latest in a string of major endorsements his campaign has received in this highly contested race.
A recent voter survey has found that the race between Democrat Phu Nguyen and Republican Allan Mansoor to succeed Republican Van Tran in California’s 68th Assembly district is competitive. In the initial question, Nguyen draws 35% to 39% for Mansoor, with the remaining quarter (26%) undecided.
