Sometimes I get the feeling that all I write about is Costa Mesa. Unfortunately, that has become a reality. It isn’t so much out of obsession as it is due to the abundance of material to write about. With that said, here’s the latest from the Fascist Republic of Costa Mesa.
Lunch time outside the County Hall of Administration was filled with a a few speeches, the Sheriff’s Honor Guard, Fire Authority Fife and Drum Corps, and free lunch. All in recognition of the service of our men and women in the military who have served our country past and present.
Orange County Young Democrats have taken action to support workers in Costa Mesa. “The attack on public worker unions in Costa Mesa is a direct threat to Orange County young workers, families, and our community at large.”
It’s becoming increasingly evident that The Orange County Register and some members of the far right are not actually interested in reforming pensions. They’re interested in further reducing the voices of working people and inciting anger among their base.
GOP Chairman Scott Baugh is touting the “Pension Boot Camp” as a “non-partisan” event. You see, you can do that if you want to, all you need are some good front groups with a names like California Foundation for Fiscal Responsibility, the California Independent Voter Network, Governing Magazine and the Pacific Research Institute.
Today is Inauguration Day in Sacramento for our new Governor Jerry Brown. In the spirit of this new dawn we bring you the day break picture from the Hot Dog Tent on the Capitol lawn sponsored by Orange County Employee’s Association and Senator Lou Correa.
The Orange County Employees Association is bringing their legendary hot dog wagon to the State Capitol grounds on January 3,2011, for an inauguration party celebrating the election of the People’s Governor, Jerry Brown.
