County supervisors on Tuesday unanimously voted to revoke Orange Countyâ€™s Treasurer-Tax Collector Chriss Streetâ€™s authority to invest county funds. Supervisors said that while Street has done a good job as treasurer, the move was needed to prevent the public and investors from losing confidence in the countyâ€™s investment pool until Streetâ€™s term ends on Jan. 3, 2011.
Today the Orange County Board of Supervisors slammed Sheriff Sandra Hutchens over her reorganization plan announced last Friday. While I will agree that spending $350,000 at a time of a major budget crisis and while we are laying off workers is ill advised and a bit out of sync with reality; I’m not sure that one out of four County Supervisors objecting really makes it a controversy.
