Yesterday came confirmation of what I have suspected for months; Costa Mesa Mayor Gary Monahan may actually be a moron. Monahan was criticized by Orange County Employees Association General Manager Nick Berardino earlier this year for his secret meetings with Field Marshal and Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer to draft the illegal scheme to outsource the jobs of almost half the city workforce.

From the Daily Pilot we finally have news that isn’t a waste of their reader’s time. Newly appointed member of the OC Fair Board Nick Berardino has called for an audit of the activities of the Fair Board for the past three years in order to restore transparency and accountability to the board.

OCEA renews offer to negotiate in Costa Mesa

One week before the scheduled court hearing regarding the Costa Mesa layoff plans, the Orange County Employees Association on Tuesday renewed their offer to negotiate to avoid the outsourcing of City services which would force layoffs of more than 100 dedicated City Workers.

When I heard that Costa Mesa City Councilman Stephen Mensinger had claimed on Facebook that his vehicle had been vandalized I asked myself; “Haven’t we been down this road already?” Just as with the apparent vandalism of Leprechaun Mayor Gary Monahan’s bar (still waiting for the release of the so called “threatening note” that was tied to the brick that smashed through the window).
