We have had some pretty interesting stories over the past year. Some we broke, others we just covered. From Westminster City Councilman Andy “Smiley” Quach and his DUI to Assemblyman “Open Mike” Duvall’s romps with a lobbyist it has been an eventful year.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi delivered the Keynote Address to the Democratic Party of Orange County’s 15th Annual Harry S. Truman Award Dinner last Friday, December 4th in Irvine. For those who were not there and those who were and simply want to replay that moment; here is the video of her keynote address…
I’m not sure anyone has complained about Adam Probolsky’s column in the Irvine World News more than I. More often than not, it’s pretty harmless. And there are those moments when Adam goes after the progressives in the Irvine council majority or liberals in general, forgetting perhaps that Irvine is far more purple than red.…
“To see Councilmember Choi parading around the lobby of the Hilton Hotel with a picture depicting Speaker Pelosi as Josef Stalin on his back was deeply disturbing, though sadly not out of character.”
What Steven Choi did at the Democratic Party of Orange County’s Harry S Truman Awards Dinner last Friday night was worse than the conduct of Dean Grose. It is worse because Choi is a non-partisan elected official in the City of Irvine. Because of that when dignitaries of any political party come to visit the city he represents, he owes them the respect due them by virtue of their position.
While the Irvine City Council is officially non-partisan, Council member Steven Choi has taken the extreme step of conservative partisanship to show up in the lobby of the Irvine Hilton wearing a banner on his back equating House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with Josef Stalin, complete with a Hammer and Sickle.
