We’re hoping that today’s special City Council meeting in Anaheim to decide whether to place two initiative proposals to amend the city charter on the November ballot doesn’t erupt into violent protests similar to those which disrupted a council meeting earlier this month. Mayor Tom Tait has set the meeting to be held at 4 p.m. in the Anaheim High School Cook Auditorium.

Mayor Pro Tem Lori Galloway has, along with Mayor Tom Tait, placed the matter of allowing a public vote to consider overturning the decision of the Council to give $158 million to spur hotel development in the Garden Walk project area on tonight’s meeting agenda.

The City of Anaheim, under the direction of Mayor Tom Tait has embarked on a systematic campaign to outsource as many city jobs as it can. From parks to libraries, Tait wants to sell off city services to the lowest bidder. The result will be for profit companies making big bucks off of the taxpayers of Anaheim while delivering limited and lower quality services.
