Yesterday was a good day for the voters of Santa Ana. Superior Court Judge Charles Margines ruled against Santa Ana Mayor Pro Tem/Councilwoman Claudia Alvarez and her front-man and Max Madrid in their attempt to subvert the will of the voters and allow her to seek two more terms on the Santa Ana City Council.

Santa Ana Council member Carlos Bustamante and Mayor Pro Tem Claudia Alvarez are expected to appear in separate Superior Court rooms today. Councilman Carlos Bustamante faces the continuation of his arraignment on sexual assault and false imprisonment charges in criminal court. Alvarez is joining the the suit by city commissioner Max Madrid to require the Santa Ana City Clerk to provide Alvarez with nomination paperwork to seek another term on the City Council.
