Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez urges participation in the 2010 Census

“In these tough economic times, Orange County can’t afford to lose out on crucial federal funding,” said Rep. Sanchez. “Filling out your Census form is easy, and it helps ensure our community gets its fair share of resources for schools, hospitals, senior centers, libraries, and other important programs. Make sure you’re counted!”‬‪

Primary Challenges for Orange County Democrats

In the Fourth District Supervisor contest to fill the unexpired term of recently elected Assemblyman Chris Norby, we have a full field of six candidates, three Republicans, and three Democrats in this technically non-partisan contest. On the Democratic side we have Anaheim City Councilwoman Lorri Galloway, La Habra City Councilwoman Rose Espinoza, and Buena Park Mayor Art Brown. Joe Dovinh: A Democratic Fan of Van Tran

We caught up with AD-68 candidate Joe Dovinh this afternoon to get to the bottom of his late entry into the AD-68 race as a Democrat.  Mr. Dovinh took issue with a post written by Chris Prevatt and our own interview got off to a rocky and argumentative start, where he almost insisted I record…

In good conscience, I cannot continue to support an expensive, protracted military conflict at a time when my district has double digit unemployment, skyrocketing foreclosure rates, and other issues that affect the quality of life of the people I represent.

Longshot Republican challenger Quang Pham has dropped out of the race for the CD-47 congressional seat now held by Rep. Loretta Sanchez according to the TotalBuzz blog.  Pham failed to capture the CRA endorsement, losing to Assemblyman Van Tran, and Pham’s departure spares Tran an expensive and potentially embarrassing primary fight.  Update: Hat tip to R.…

Loretta: “Repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Now.”

“I wish we could just get this done and move on as many other militaries have,” Sanchez, D-Santa Ana, said at an Armed Services subcommittee meeting Wednesday afternoon. Sanchez said the U.S. should follow the lead of at least 20 countries in reworking its policy on allowing gays and Lesbians to serve openly. Canada, Great Britain, Australia and Israel are among those 20 nations.

GOP “Pipe” Dreams of Victory in Central OC

I have been reading recently how the Republicans in Orange County have reached the conclusion that Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, and State Senator Lou Correa are vulnerable to defeat in November. They cite the wave of anti-incumbent feaver that is sweeping through the country. Yeah Right. Dream On!
