The cities of Anaheim and Irvine approved their budgets for next fiscal year on Tuesday. Each city took similar approached to address projected shortfalls in revenue and public service needs with one Mayor vowing to travel to Sacramento to resist state efforts to raid city revenues.

Irvine city council member Beth Krom took only three weeks from the launch of her run for Congress in California’s CD-48 against Republican Congressman John Campbell to outraise the incumbant in the first quarter 2009 filings. The Hill.com rounds up the fundraising saying Krom beat Campbell $60K to $50K.
