Back during the primary election I announced that I was supporting Keith Rodenhuis for Orange County Treasurer Tax Collector. Keith was the top vote getter in the primary, and is facing Huntington Beach Treasurer Shari Freidenrich in the November 2nd run-off.

In a Total Buzz post Tuesday the Orange County Register’s Elias Groll misinterperates the campaign finance reports of OC Treasurer/Tax Collector candidates claiming that the underdog Shari Freidenrich has a 10-1 fundraising advantage over primary first place finisher Keith Rodenhuis.

UPDATED: Rodenhuis Will Get To Run For Treasurer-Tax Collector!

Judge Sanders has ruled this morning that Rodenhuis is eligible to run for county Treasurer-Tax Collector. Rodenhuis said in an email statement; “I am happy, but not surprised by the decision. The suit was frivolous and a waste of the court’s time and the taxpayer’s money. This is not the kind of leadership Orange County wants or needs in a time of fiscal stress.”

Keith has a killer ballot title in an expensive county-wide race. Street had the slates pretty much locked up — and if he arranges with the vendors to release them to Keith, then Mr. Rodenhuis will be in a pretty commanding position to at the very least make it into a run-off.
