The story, Santa Ana mayor would receive $500,000 ‘finders fee’ if sale of state buildings goes forward, was posted on Monday afternoon in the LA Times describes the revelations from a deposition by State Treasurer Bill Lockyer related to a lawsuit to stop the pending sale of State buildings. During questioning, Lockyer said he had received a phone call from an Orange County attorney who is a friend of his and Pulido’s.

These developers want to continue to have a carte blanche with money that should be used for our streets, parks and public safety, not to enrich a bunch of South Orange County developers and trash barons. They know if Amezcua is elected, he will turn this city back over to the residents and they cannot have that. Spread the word and know these hit pieces are untrue and nothing more than a move of desperation by developers who want to screw the residents of Santa Ana.

DPOC Vote Rigged For Pulido

Earlier this evening, the Democratic Party of Orange County made their endorsements for the local offices in Orange County. The most controversial was the Santa Ana Mayor’s race between Miguel Pulido and Alfredo Amezcua. Unfortunately, Endorsement Committee Chair Florice Hoffman decided to give the proverbial middle finger to Democracy and rig the vote for Mayor Pulido.
DPOC installs Gerrie Schipske as new Executive Director

On Monday night, the Democratic Party of Orange County installed Long Beach City Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske as their new Executive Director. Schipske comes to the DPOC with a terriffic background of work in democratic politics. Schipske has a long history of working with the community of organized labor.
