Over the weekend six-term Missouri Congressman Todd Akin, the GOP challenger to Senator Claire McCaskill, provided a clear distinction between the Republican world-view, and that of the majority of Americans. Akin stated that abortion should not be allowed in the case of rape since “women’s bodies have the ability to prevent pregnancy in such cases.”

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan plan to end Medicare as we know it

Last night on FOX, Paul Ryan again attacked President Obama for the very same Medicare savings that he includes in his own budget – and then attempted to walk away from those policies, which he has advocated in Congress as a hallmark of the House Republican agenda, and which Mitt Romney has broadly endorsed as part of the Romney-Ryan Budget time and time again.
