As we stand on the edge of the fiscal cliff, waiting to see if the Republicans in Congress choose to walk back from the edge with Democrats or jump—pulling us all over into an economic abyss, I want to recall with you some of the highlights of 2012.

Ballot Count Update: Some Races Tightening

Last night a technical glitch at the Registrar of Voters delayed the release of the updated ballot tallies for last week’s general election. Sharon Quirk-Silva expanded her lead over Assemblyman Chris Norby in the 65th Assembly district race to 2,996 votes. There are 11,424 ballots remaining to be counted; 2,584 vote-by-mail and 8,850 provisional’s.

Responsible government experienced a victory last night when more than 59% of Costa Mesa voters resoundingly rejected the city charter initiative cobbled together by Councilman Jim Righeimer and his council majority.
