Santa Ana City Council Meeting: My Thoughts
by Claudio Gallegos • • 4 Comments
I joined Chris Prevatt at the City Council meeting last night. What a different demeanor the Council had in regards to Public Comments. The Mayor was very lenient on the time frame to turn in speaker cards and this time they took the harsh criticism leveled at them. I spoke briefly on the item to remove Tish Leon, letting them know they were essentially listening to the words of Art Pedroza, a man who promoted sex between men and boys on websites he owned and Sean Mill, a man who has threatened to harm multiple Santa Ana residents(he once threatened to kick me in the teeth in an e-mail and threatened in a text to Phil Bacerra to send gang members to his house).
Alvarez: Brown Act Investigation! Quick we need a distraction, Michelle dump another commissioner.

In another demonstration of their flair for distraction from their own mistakes, the Santa Ana City Council is again using the power to remove members of city commissions as a diversion. This time they needed a way do distract from their collective failure to stop Mayor Pro Tem Claudia Alvarez from violating the right of Albert Castillo to address his grievances to his elected officials. The action by Claudia Alvarez has drawn the attention of the Attorney General’s office.

Oops, she did it again. Claudia Alvarez Violating the Brown Act That is.

Here you have Mayor Pulido, letting a rogue Mayor Pro Tem Claudia Alvarez run public comment, along with the entire purpose of the Brown Act (Accountability) into the ground while he is sitting there playing a fiddle or something. Note to the Santa Ana City Council; If you can’t handle a little public criticism you’re in the wrong fracking business.

by Dan Chmielewski • • 8 Comments
It’s a befuddling question. And one sure to have strong opinions, but I pose this question to our readers. Is it possible to be against illegal immigration and for comprehensive immigration reform. And by being anti-illegal immigration, does that…
