For the past couple weeks I’ve been trying to track down how a draft copy of a confidential report from Talon Executive Services regarding their investigation of City employee Huy Pham’s March 17, 2011 suicide at City Hall was released to Jon Cassidy of the Orange County Register.
I just about fell out of my chair on Friday when I read that Field Marshal (Mayor Pro Tem) Jim Righeimer was going on a “trade mission” to the City of Ordos, in Inner Mongolia, China. According to the press release Righeimer, City Public Affairs Manager Dan Joyce, and Susan O’Brien Moore,Vice President of the Executive Board of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (VCB).
In looking at tonight’s agenda for the Costa Mesa City Council, I find myself wondering if the Four Boys of the Council have been hanging out in secret a bit too much at Monahan’s Pub. In spite of the fact that they have been told by a judge that they cannot contract out to private contractors any jobs currently held by public employees they are still spending the time of City staff, high priced consultants, and the City Council, on the fools errand of outsourcing before determining feasibility, or if it will actually save any money.
