OC Register Editorial Board Endorsements give a leg up to Republicans who decline Union Money/Endorsments

I check out the OC Register’s editorial pages daily as they cycle through interviews with candidates for office and then note their endorsements in editorials.  To my surprise (not), endorsements are typically granted to Republican candidates who follow the Baugh Doctrine, a manifesto of sorts that locks Republicans into a position to decline contributions from…

Choi’s Name Not on Petition Supporting Measure BB in Irvine

Irvine Mayoral candidates Larry Agran and Katherine Daigle offered a spirited debate based on political philosophy and issues Wednesday night at Irvine City Hall hosted by Republican pollster Adam Probolsky who also writes a column for the Irvine World News.  Republican Steven Choi was not there and issued a news release suggesting moderator Probolsky…

Choi Can’t Complain

The Orange County Register was very accommodating to Irvine Mayoral Candidate Steven Choi with an article last Friday pointing out Choi’s support for Measure BB, the Save Our Schools Initiative.  Councilmember Larry Agran said the motion to approve Measure BB immediately actually constitute a rejection of the initiative itself, which I don’t necessarily agree but…

Who is Pulling Steven Choi’s Puppet Strings?

Republican Mayoral candidate Steven Choi’s onion-thin skin has been pierced again by effective mailers that spell out his record — that Choi voted against Irvine City Budgets in 2009 and 2010 and in doing so voted against public safety, city funding for public schools, parks & recreation issues and other infrastructure improvements simply because Choi, like…

Choi to Run for Mayor in Irvine

Termed out Irvine City Council member Dr. Steven Choi is a candidate for mayor in the 2012 election and it brings up all sorts of fun to look forward to in the coming election cycle. Choi, who embarassed himself and the city by wearing a Photoshopped image of then Speaker Nancy Pelosi as Stalin in 2009, was the subject of voter fraud charges from former Assembly candidate Jerry Amante, then Mayor of Tustin. Choi and his entire family were registered to vote from a rented condo/apartment in Woodbridge while the city councilman was still clearly residing in a posh Woodbury home.
