The Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs (AOCDS) has announced the hiring of Kimberly Edds to fill the newly created position of Director of Communications & Public Relations.
AOCDS President Wayne Quint, Jr. announced he will be retiring from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to begin a new career in state government. With this announcement, Wayne resigned as President of the Association and Board of Directors.

In the Fourth Supervisor’s contest, Fullerton City Councilman Shawn Nelson came out on top 12 points ahead of his closest opponent Anaheim Councilman Harry Sidhu. Councilwoman Lorri Galloway, also from Anaheim, squeezed out a third place finish by under 300 votes after trailing Buena Park Mayor Art Brown the entire evening.
The action comes just days after the Santa Ana Police Officers’ Association withdrew its support of Hunt, a former sheriff’s lieutenant running on a law and order platform. Santa Ana officers were angered that Hunt was on the defense team of a reported F-Troop gang member awaiting trial on attempted robbery charges.
The Orange County Board of Supervisors voted 3-1 on Tuesday to ratify the contract agreement with the Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs. The deal marks a compromise reached after six months of negotiations, as declining tax revenue and climbing retirement costs continue straining county coffers.
After working under an expired contract with the county since 2007, the Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriff’s (AOCDS) announced it its members today that they have reached a tentative contract agreement with the County of Orange. Details of the contract have not been announced and they will be presented to to the membership at three meetings on Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday. Voting will occur on January 20th.
