Last night, after the Orange County Registrar of Voters released the latest ballot count, Orange County Assemblyman Chris Norby conceded defeat. Fullerton Mayor Sharon Quirk-Silva has expanded her lead over Assemblyman Norby in the 65th Assembly district contest to 3,348 votes.

It’s Not All About the Swing-States

If you watch the cable news channels you may have gotten the impression that the only place where voters matter is in the swing-states. At times it seems the two presidential candidates are running for President of Virginwiscoflohiowa. While that election is getting all the attention, there are some important votes in California that could swing the balance of political power away from middle-class Californians for years to come.

Vote NO on Prop 32: Not What It Looks Like

On the ballot this season is Proposition 32, an initiative which claims to bring an end to special interests spending in California elections. Sounds like a good idea, if that were what it actually did. Proposition 32 is a reboot of two previous attempts by Orange County based anti-union activists to stop the ability of unions to participate in California politics.
