A Day of Celebration for Labor Unions

If you are enjoying a day off today, thank organized labor unions. In 1894 President Grover Cleveland declared Labor Day a national holiday following a bloody riot that ensued when striking Pullman workers were accosted by the U.S. Marshalls and the U.S. Military. Several workers were killed during the riot.

I saw a very large pick up truck barreling down the freeway Sunday with 2 mullet wearing white guys and 2 bumper stickers on the back of their truck. One said, “Don’t Tread on Me.” The other one said, “Don’t Blame Me, I voted for the American.”
