Geoff West at A Bubbling Cauldron has found another nugget of gold in the agenda for Tuesday night’s Costa Mesa City Council meeting. Apparently, the staff is recommending that the Council rescind the layoffs announced 13 months ago for the Costa Mesa Fire Department personnel.
The Orange County Register reported yesterday on the attempted exit from the race by the lone Republican in the race, Jose “Joe” Moreno. It seems that Mr. Moreno’s candidacy poses a problem for his employer, the County of Orange Social Services Agency.

The special Costa Mesa City Council meeting scheduled today to discuss holding a municipal election on the City’s charter measure has been canceled. The regularly scheduled Council Study Session will begin today at 4:30 p.m.,as planned.
