I'm new to political blogging but have been writing most of my life about different things. I campaigned for President Clinton when he was just Governor Clinton in Orange County. I graduated from Smith College with a BA in English and a minor in Film. I work full time, have a lovely four year old daughter named Charlotte, my husband teaches full time at Cerritos College in Norwalk in the Music Department. Gary has a Ph.D in Ethnomusicology from UCI. I hope to go back to school in some form or another, maybe sociology or economics. I've even thought of Law school. Our newest edition to the household is our Weimaraner Sophie.

4,000 Dead and Counting

Sadly, the Iraq war reached a numerical milestone with the death toll reaching 4,000 soldiers killed in combat. Why we pay so much attention to the round numbers, especially when every single death counts and every single death will leave parents or spouses behind. Every single death with leave children or childhood friends behind. Every…

When did Pregnancy become a Disablity?

Alarmism at the FlushReport, who’da thunk?

I have to admit to not having visited the FlashReport prior to coming to the Liberal OC and on a whim I went to check it out. I guess that was my first mistake. Yes, Democrats hope to seize 2/3 of the State Legislature to raise taxes! Of course, if you actually read the articles…

Aliso Viejo Parents in a Nit Snit

Lice is a childhood right of passage but of course it’s also something many parents don’t really want to talk about.   Or is it the School that wants to avoid alerting parents until it’s absolutely necessary?  And then, when can you send your child back to school?  The current policy is proof of treatment is…

Spitzer Likely to Resign – Updated

Aides to New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer are holding transition meetings with the lieutenant governor’s office, a top legislative staffer said as calls for Spitzer’s resignation heated up Tuesday. If Spitzer resigns, Lt. Gov. David Paterson, 53, would become the state’s first black governor and the fourth in U.S. history. The former Senate minority leader…
