A Thanksgiving Message from President Barack Obama

Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, Americans across the country will sit down together, count our blessings, and give thanks for our families and our loved ones. American families reflect the diversity of this great nation. No two are exactly alike, but there is a common thread they each share. Our families are bound together through times of…

Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Day Proclamation

So what are you thanksful for? It’s easy for me.  My wife and kids. My family’s general health and good tidings.  My health has dramatically improved.  My business is busy and growing.  I have more friends than I can count.  And as we gather together for a simple meal tomorrow, we’re reminded of the man…

Loretta’s Holiday Card Debuts December 1

We just received word from the DPOC that Rep. Loretta Sanchez will make an announcement on December 1.  The announcement isn’t that she will run for Governor, but will be about the debut of her new holiday card.  Will it be racy?  Tame? Rhode Island Bishop Denies Communion to Rep. Patrick Kennedy

Interesting position taken by Bishop Tobin of Rhode Island.  Because Patrick Kennedy is upholding the law, he is being denied communion by the Catholic Church.  Chris Matthews does a pretty decent job here of straddling the fence between respectful disagreement and putting Bishop Thomas Tobin on the spot.  I wonder if the Bishop supports the ability of all those Cardinals, Bishops and Msngrs in nthe church who were aware of child sex abuse going on but did nothing to protect the kids.  Would they deny communion to Republican lawmakers who voted for an illegal or unjust war in Iraq or advocated techniques of torture.

The Progression of the Recession Nationally

When windbags like Rush Limabugh call this economic climate “Obama’s economy,” a reminder that George W. Bush was able to avoid accepting responsibility for the declining economic forecast during the initial months of his first term because the declining economy was, in the words of the right wing media, “Clinton’s fault.” Check out this automated…
