The Academy of International Dance is holding their annual Tequisa Fundraiser this year on August 1st at Mile Square Park. Tickets are only $6.00 The ticket includes 2 soft taco, rice, beans and a beverage. There will be lots of games, music and dancind! Come join the fun and help a child dance. Proceeds of this fundraiser will go towards the many dance programs provided by the Academy of International Dance.

State Workers Behind Immigration List

Earlier this week in Utah, a list of 1,300 people with their personal addresses, social security numbers and family memebers were sent out to media outlets, law enforcement agencies and other random targets. This got the state of Utah to investigate. It turns out two state employees who work in the department that issues food stamps and other social services are behind the list. For many years, the 4th of July has not had a formal celebration in Santa Ana, and I believe this was a great idea for Mr. Bella to put together. Many of the organizers were set to be honored last night before the City Council, but that was put to a stop after two Councilmembers, Claudia Alvarez and Sal Tinajero threatened to walk out. Some people may say, WHAT!, how unpatriotic is that for those two Councilmembers to walk out of a presentation honoring those who were honoring our country. Well, there is another side of the story…

David Benavides Campaign Kickoff a Massive Success

Last night I had the pleasure of attending Ward 4 Councilman David Benavides’ re-election kick off. Needless to say, the event was a great success and I see one of our better Councilmembers heading towards a re-election. The crowd was diverse with many people from the city insiders to the neighborhood folks, people who are usually at odds coming together to support David.
