Too often we have blog posts discussing how much Santa Ana schools are failing. Well the OC Register has a terrific article in Sunday’s paper that talks about one of the bright spots in Santa Ana, which you can read HERE. El Sol Science and Arts Academy, located at 1010 N. Broadway is a shining example of success in an otherwise dismal review of Santa Ana’s public schools. Now I could do a post obsessing about people I don’t like in Santa Ana because they don’t like a buddy of mine who lives at home with their mother,

Earlier this week in Utah, a list of 1,300 people with their personal addresses, social security numbers and family memebers were sent out to media outlets, law enforcement agencies and other random targets. For many years, the 4th of July has not had a formal celebration in Santa Ana, and I believe this was a great idea for Mr. Bella to put together. Many of the organizers were set to be honored last night before the City Council, but that was put to a stop after two Councilmembers, Claudia Alvarez and Sal Tinajero threatened to walk out. Some people may say, WHAT!, how unpatriotic is that for those two Councilmembers to walk out of a presentation honoring those who were honoring our country. Well, there is another side of the story…
I receieved an e-mail announcing Councilwoman Michele Martinez’ last minute push to raise money before the deadline, which is today, and also announcing her upcoming event next week. You can read the flier . Notice anything wrong?
Last night I had the pleasure of attending Ward 4 Councilman David Benavides’ re-election kick off. Needless to say, the event was a great success and I see one of our better Councilmembers heading towards a re-election. The crowd was diverse with many people from the city insiders to the neighborhood folks, people who are usually at odds coming together to support David.
