For some people, change doesn’t come easily. When it comes to the acceptance of diversity in sexual orientation, not easy isn’t the half of it. Back in 2010 a small band of bigoted elected officials and Vietnamese community leaders in Westminster tried to have a LGBT group excluded from participation in the annual Tet Parade held in Westminster.

Republicans Aim to Change Electoral College Rules Rather Than Their Party

From the “Can’t Win Any Other Way” files comes the news that the GOP has defined a new strategy to deal with its declining national popularity. In states where Republicans hold state legislatures and governorship’s in their control, the GOP is trying to change the way Electoral College votes are allocated so that they are assigned by congressional district rather than to the winner of the statewide popular vote.

Defense Secretary Panetta to reverse restrictions on women in combat Thursday

Major media outlets and members of congress have indicated that Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta is expected on Thursday to lift the ban on women in the armed forces working in combat positions. Called the Ground Combat Exclusion, the policy restricts women from participating in approximately 237,000 battalion -level jobs in all branches of the military.
