Sanchez introduces legislation addressing border humanitarian crisis

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-46), senior member of the House Homeland Security Committee and member of the Border and Maritime Security Subcommittee, today introduced H.R. 5261, the Central American and USA (CAUSA) Initiatives Act. More than 50,000 children fleeing extreme violence in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras have been apprehended at the U.S.’s southern border since October of last year.

Solorio announces fundraising figures for Senate campaign

The Solorio for State Senate Campaign announced Thursday that after raising more than $300,000 during the recent June Primary time period, it will report a total of $625,211.34 cash-on-hand on its semi-annual campaign finance report which is due on July 31. Former State Assemblyman Jose Solorio is running to replace outgoing State Senator Lou Correa in the 34th State Senate District.

On July 1, Voice of OC reported that Supervisor Bates’ former executive assistant Brian Probolsky, a manager with OC Community Resources department and also an elected member of the Moulton Niguel Water District – has come under fire because his time cards rarely show time off on days he’s attending water district meetings. Now, less than a month after this revelation, Bates has brought Probolsky back under her wing of protection.
