AD-65 race: QUIRK-SILVA CASH ADVANTAGE OVER OPPONENT: 24 TO 1

Sharon Quirk-Silva

FULLERTON, CA—65th Assembly District Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva today announced filing her latest campaign finance disclosure statement with the California Secretary of State’s Office, reporting over $605,000 cash on hand.

Minus outstanding expenses, Quirk-Silva’s $585,575 compares to $24,259 held by her opponent, Alexandria Coronado, a right-wing Trump devotee whose record includes outlandish statements on LGBTQ issues, immigrant children, guns, and education.

“Not only does Ms. Coronado lag badly behind Asm. Quirk-Silva on fundraising, but she’s way behind every other GOP candidate in a swing seat in California,” said Quirk-Silva co-consultant Matt Reilly. “In combination with Sharon’s strong June showing, the GOP will have a hard time convincing anyone that this is a race worth their time.”

Quirk-Silva spent over 30 years teaching in the Fullerton School District prior to being elected to the Assembly in 2016. She is the former Mayor of Fullerton and served in the Assembly from 2012-2014.

The 65th Assembly District includes Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, La Palma, Stanton and most of West Anaheim.
