OC GOP Congressional Delegation and State Elected Mostly Silent on UVA

I’m still numb from the events at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville over the weekend where hate-filled Neo Nazis and KKK alt-right type-“Americans” flew Nazi flags and Confederate flags and these alt-right racists rioted causing the death of one counter protester and two police officers.  Sorry, but this was a planned race riot by a particular element of Trump’s base and the president blamed everyone in his brief speech, refusing to single out white supremacists.

In Orange County, only Rep. Mimi Walters addressed the incident in a tweet:  Mimi WaltersVerified account @RepMimiWalters Aug 12

My prayers are w/ the victims in Charlottesville. I’m disgusted & horrified by the white supremacism displayed today. We must defeat hate.

But there was no mention of the violence in Virginia from the social media posts of Rep. Daryl Issa, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher. or Rep. Ed Royce.  Congressman Lou Correa wants hearings on white supremacist terrorism.

Our Republican state assembly reps were no better:  nothing from State Ass. Steven Choi, State Ass. Matt Harper, State Ass. Travis Allen.  As Allen is a candidate for Governor, his lack of comment on this just shows he’s out of touch.  State Ass. Bill Brough only tweeted about the Rancho Santa Margarita Little League team advancing to the Little League World Series.

Sharon Quirk-Silva retweeted a number of items related to the violence in Virginia.

State Senator John Moorlach had nothing to say on Twitter, but State Senator Janet Nguyen did issue a statement condemning the violence there.  State Senator Josh Newman, who had a very busy weekend being involved with anti-recall efforts, got something out this morning condemning the violence.

Now these alt-right morons have every right to utter their hate speech and we have every right to call them racists, bigots and haters.  But for Republicans suggesting that counter-protesters are equally to blame, spare me.  Condemn the hate speech as everyone should.  OC Republicans are slow to do so.

Of course everyone both left and right condemn the violence at Charlottesville. Just because someone doesn’t come out and condemn the violence is not a defacto approval of it. Look at the evidence folks, the violence came from both sides and both sides should be condemned, it’s that simple. It was unfortunate that people were killed and injured. Such is the nature of violence. The left has also been responsible for more than it’s share of violence as well as the right. When people get together in opposition to each other, there is a real danger of serious violence. The problem again is on both sides.

Your statement makes no sense. Like many on the left, you are so enraged that you are unable to think rationally. By the way, what with calling everyone who disagrees with you a Nazi, don’t you think that’s a little idiotic.

Your obviously a few bricks shy of a load my friend. Why don’t you see a shrink and make your parents happy. I’m sure they want you to keep up with your meds too.
