Today, you can call them Congressman Lou Correa and Senator Kamala Harris. Both were sworn in to their federal seats in the House and the Senate making today another historic day for California and Orange County.
Harris becomes the first US Senator from California who is Black and Indian, while Correa is the first Latino male to represent Orange County in Congress. Both face a daunting task of standing up to President-elect Donald Trump. Harris has never been a part of the minority party in any elected office while Correa certainly knows how to navigate from his experience on the county Board of Supervisors.
This blog wishes them both success in the stormy seas ahead.
