Sanchez concedes Senate race


Statement by Rep. Loretta Sanchez on the California U.S. Senate Election Results


Said Rep. Sanchez:

“Today, I called Ms. Kamala Harris to congratulate her on her win to the U.S. Senate.

“As she prepares to head to Washington to represent the people of California, I offer my support.

“The campaign was hard-fought and now we come together as Californians.

“I thank all of my supporters for standing with me.


“In the next few weeks, I will spend time with my husband and my family.

“Although we don’t know what our future will be, I can tell you that this is not the last that people will see of me.”

    Loretta performed respectably well in this election (37.5% of the vote). I am sure she will take what she has learned and gained in this run for the future. IMO (and guess) DiFi will not be running for US Senate in 2018. This run sets Loretta up nicely for a 2018 run to replace her.

      I agree Junior. I do not see her challenging Lou in a primary; nice photo of them in today’s LA Times
