FULLERTON, CA—Classroom teacher and 65th Assembly District candidate Sharon Quirk-Silva today announced receiving the endorsement of the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association in her race for State Assembly.

“On behalf of the 950 men and women of the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association, protecting 1.3 million citizens and 23 cities of Orange County, I am pleased to convey our endorsement of your candidacy,” OCPFA representative Tony Bedolla wrote in a letter to the Quirk-Silva campaign.

“Fire season reminds us more than ever the importance and dedication of the men and women who stand on the dangerous front line protecting our safety,” said Quirk-Silva. “I will work hard to make sure state government is a partner for these courageous public servants so they can do their jobs to the fullest.”

Quirk-Silva currently teaches elementary school children and has spent 31 years teaching in the Fullerton School District. She is the former Mayor of Fullerton and served in the Assembly from 2012-2014.

The 65th Assembly District includes Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, La Palma, Stanton and most of West Anaheim.
