Correa Puts Out Apartment Fire in Santa Ana; Saves Seven People

LouFire6

We just got off the phone with former State Senator Lou Correa who confirmed that he put out an apartment fire in Santa Ana this morning and saved the lives of a grandmother and three children and three other residents who were seemingly unaware of a fire on the balcony of a second story apartment.

Correa was driving on North Broadway in the city and saw flames and smoke from a second story apartment window; he quickly did a U-turn, parked illegally (he says), grabbed a fire hose and ran into the building while calling 911.  He made his way into the apartment and told the grandmother and children to leave the premises immediate and dosed the flames with water.  Captain Bryant from the OCFD is on the scene and officials are trying to reach family members to assist with the children (ages unknown).

According to those on the scene, without Correa’s intervention, the entire building could have gone up in the matter of a few minutes.  Officials are trying to assess how many people are in the neighboring apartments now. The fire occurred in the 2000 block of North Broadway and Correa saved lives and property.

Who says politicians can’t put out fires?

  1. Great Job Senator ! We need someone like Lou Correa representing us in Congress. Too bad you can’t add that bit of news to your ballot statement. Well at least you have a ballot statement.

  2. Joe Dunn stands with those families. He stands with them for a photo and leaves. Luis Would have stood with them too but he’s still in Vegas.

  3. At first I thought this was a joke, then I remembered Henry (Paul Lucas) Lipton hangs out in Santa Ana and has a nasty Marijuana habit. Maybe he left a blunt going and started the fire.

    Would’nt that be something?

  4. Because of senator correa, we still have a home…. if it wouldnt of been for him, our apt would of been destroyed.we had 3 children inside.. a 5 month old baby a 5 yr old an a 2 yr old.. he saved our lives..thank you senator lou correa..

  5. YOOO THATS MY BOI LOU CORREA, ALWAYS THINKING ABOUT THE PEOPLE AND ALWAYS PUTTING OTHERS IN FRONT OF HIMSELF. IF I COULD VOTE FOR SURE THIS GUY IS THE RIGHT MAN FOR SENATOR. YALL SHOULD SUPPORT THIS MAN RIGHT HERE. WHO HERE EVER HEARD OF A SENATOR PUTTING OUT FIRES? LOU CORREA IS MY HOMIE AND I SUPPORT HIM.

  6. I’ve been alerted that Mr. Diamond has a post up on OJ. I’ll make some corrections to the original reporting. Correa saved seven people, not three. He used a garden hose not a fire hose to put out the blaze ( some apartment homes do have a firehouse in the hallways, but if you have any hose that channels water in times of a fire, it can be a fire hose). It is also possible to drive North and South on Broadway. Belittling the former senator for an act of heroism says more about the writer than about the former Senator.

  7. A mild, legitimate comment by a local realtor on the OJB thread was spiked after a few hours, presumably at Paul Lucas’ request when the commenter opined it was hypocritical of Greg Diamond and Vern Nelson to bash anonymous commenters but not call out Henry Lipton.

The guy, as well as others asked point blank:
Is Paul Lucas using the phony name Henry Lipton (I would add “has he ever”)?

Instead of being honest, they spiked it. Not exactly the profile in courage. In fact, Greg calls people feckless cowards…………..
I ask what does that make Paul. A hypocrite coward? A drug addicted coward, a convicted felon coward, a Joe Dunn Democrat?

Come out come out where ever you are Henry…..Come on Lucas, have the balls to AT LEAST deny you have ever used this name.

I won’t hold my breath (unless standing next to Henry’s enabler, Vern)
