President Obama will deliver UC Irvine’s commencement address on June 14 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, the White House said today.

Obama’s address will come as the campus celebrates its 50th anniversary, marking the year when President Johnson spoke at the dedication ceremony for the campus in 1964.

In 2009, First Lady Michelle Obama spoke at UC Merced’s commencement ceremony.

CSUF graduation in ’73 was at Angel Stadium – Nixon didn’t give the commencement address – but Gov. Ronald Reagan signed my diploma.

    RHackett,
I doubt that the CSUF student body requested Nixon to give our commencement address. On a side note, as incoming Pres. of a trade association I was asked if there was anyone I would like to invite to address the membership. An invitation was sent to Pres. GWB – the association received a formal and cordial reply from the White House expressing the President’s regrets at not being able to attend our installation dinner. That is a class act!
