WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-47) today honored the eleventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
“Today we remember and honor the nearly 3,000 men, women and children who lost their lives on September 11th, and the families they left behind. We will never forget America’s first responders, whose heroic and selfless actions saved countless lives on that tragic day. On this day we also recognize the courage and commitment of those who have served in our military securing our great nation. We are grateful for the many sacrifices they’ve made.
“I’m proud to stand with my colleagues today to reaffirm our commitment to doing everything we can to protect the American people from another terrorist attack. Our country is strong and because of the actions of our military and intelligence community, Osama Bin Laden will never harm our country again. We are not intimidated by cowardly acts. Let us cherish the freedom, liberty, and respect our democracy affords to us, today and every day.”
Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez is proud to represent California’s 47th Congressional District, which includes the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, and parts of Fullerton in Orange County. She serves as Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces and a senior member of the Committee on Homeland Security. Rep. Sanchez is also a member of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition and sits on the bipartisan, bicameral Joint Economic Committee.
