Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan plan to end Medicare as we know it

The following press release dropped in my inbox this morning from the Obama for America campaign.

CHICAGO – Last night on FOX, Paul Ryan again attacked President Obama for the very same Medicare savings that he includes in his own budget – and then attempted to walk away from those policies, which he has advocated in Congress as a hallmark of the House Republican agenda, and which Mitt Romney has broadly endorsed as part of the Romney-Ryan Budget time and time again. He said, “I’m pleased to support the position of getting rid of every piece of Obamacare – including the cuts to Medicare which are used to pay for Obamacare.”

Let’s pretend Paul Ryan can so easily walk away from the disastrous policies he has championed for years. In that imaginary world where the Romney-Ryan ticket puts the interests of the middle class first, we have to ask: what might Paul Ryan take back next?

Paul Ryan, are you prepared to denounce….

  • Turning Medicare into a voucher program that would leave seniors paying thousands of dollars more each year?
  • Slashing funding for Medicaid so that 19 million people lose coverage – including seniors in nursing homes, low-income children, and pregnant women in need of prenatal care?
  • Cutting investments in the middle-class that could cut 200,000 kids a year from Head Start and reduce Pell Grants for 10 million students?

Of course, it’s not so simple for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan – they can’t just walk away from the Romney-Ryan Budget. So today, Obama for America is releasing a new web video to remind Americans exactly how their plan would end Medicare as we know it, leaving seniors with nothing but a voucher in place of the guaranteed benefits they rely on today.

You obviously did not listen and you are reading the Ryan Plan not the Romney plan which is different. Ryan is running for VP and is not the controlling partner. Get your story straight and quit spewing Obama lapdog ideology. No one on Medicare or 55 and over will have anything changed. The change is so Medicare can sustain itself. Tell Your president Obama to give back the 700 billion he took from medicare. Please stop printing story’s you do not understnd.

Barack Hussein Obama’s plan is to bankrupt Medicare.

You don’t have to be a Doctor to read the chart.

Changing demographics – the Baby Boomers – births during the first couple of years after WW II will bankrupt Medicare; slowing the rise in health care costs will not be enough to save Medicare as we know it.

Where are the IPAB nominees (for Medicare)?
Obama has failed to nominate any appointees to the Independent Payment Advisory Board. The rulings of these IPAB bureaucrats will be exempt from both administrative AND judicial review.

IPAB (death squads) is not the way to lower Medicare costs

Nothing survives a collapsing economy, not Medicare, Social Security, or pensions.
Two options: Glass-Steagall, + Hamiltonian Credit System, + NAWAPA or death.
