Pulido Stumps for Martinez

Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido sent out an email invitation for an upcoming fundraiser for AD-69 candidate and former Mayoral opponent Michele Martinez. The Mayor spoke to about 18 volunteers who attended Martinez’s campaign kick off a few weeks back after speaking on the councilwoman’s behalf at her Chapter One campaign kick off in November.

Here’s the invite:

I see that Pulido has coerced Solorio into changing his mind. One also has to wonder what Pulido had to offer Bustamante for his support. Of course maybe the reason they support her is that they all want her gone from the council. She is the most embarrassing of the bunch. Every time she opens her mouth, I just cringe

Solorio has a dual endorsement of Martinez and Daly. There are others offering dual endorsements of Daly and Perez.

What really matters is money, ground game and organization.

Solorio has been in the “anybody but Julio” column. I really think Pulido would also be happy with Daly.

BREAKING NEWS THOUGH – Sal Tinajero has just endorsed Julio! What are Art and Sean gonna say?

“Calling him the best candidate, Santa Ana City Councilmember Sal Tinajero today announced his full endorsement of Julio Perez for the 69th Assembly District seat. Tinajero, who also serves as a public school teacher, has represented the communities that are in the newly drawn 69th District for the past 11 years.

” ‘Julio’s deep ties and understanding of our community and its educational needs drives him to serve and to give back. His skill in crafting common sense solutions and bringing people together is what makes him the best candidate for the job,’ said Tinajero. ‘I’m supporting Julio because we share the same vision -for better schools, safer streets, and more opportunities for our children.’ ”

“”I am honored to have Sal’s support,” said Perez. “He has been a great leader for over a decade in the city of Santa Ana as a teacher, school board member and city councilman and I look forward to working with him to keep our communities growing and thriving.”

We will note the earlier version of this invite from Councilman Sarmiento included reference to Tinajero.

This development places the pay-for-play blogs in Santa Ana with the predicament of downplaying the value of Tinajero’s endorsement.
