Moonlite Bunny Ranch Brothel Backs Ron Paul for President

Progressive radio host Thom Hartman defines Libertarians as “conservatives who want to smoke pot and patronize prostitutes” without being arrested.  And Republican/Liberatarian presidential candidate Ron Paul sports a new endorsement that fits this definition.  Crazy Uncle Ron, whom the joke goes puts the “Aryan” in Libertarian, has secured the endorsement of the working girls of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch in Nevada.

The brothel is featured on the HBO reality series “Cathouse.”

According to the LA Times Top of the Ticket blog:

The Moonlite Bunny Ranch is providing a hotbed of support for Ron Paul in the Nevada caucuses, thus proving there’s a thin line between libertarian and libertine.

The working girls at the notorious brothel near Carson City are, in their words, “pimpin’ for Paul.” One of the women, 25-year-old Cami Parker, told Times reporter Maria La Ganga that she likes Paul’s positions on individual liberties and states’ rights and drops 10% of her weekly earnings into a Paul campaign donation box in the brothel’s parlor.

In a state that thrives on gambling and allows zones of legal prostitution, Paul’s libertarian philosophy has wide appeal, although it’s a bit of a stretch to imagine the grandfatherly and mildly eccentric Texas congressman as a stud muffin for a group of sex trade entrepreneurs. Then again, given the horny ranch hands, frat boys, obese bikers, errant husbands and sad lonely hearts these women pretend to be aroused by every day, the authenticity and cerebral charm of Paul could be vastly more appealing.

The brothel endorsed Paul in the 2008 Republican primaries as well.  And with the Nevada Primary coming up, it wil be interesting to see how much Rep. Paul will report in donations from the working girls and brothel owner Dennis Hof.

Ron Paul finds support at Moonlite Bunny Ranch

Now this isn’t the first time the world’s oldest profession mingled with the world’s second oldest.  Conservative radio host and Fox News anchor Sean Hannity has paid a visit to the ranch as has Tucker Carlson (maybe the girls found a way to loosen that bow tie of his).

(sorry readers, the photos won’t load, but Google search “Moonlite Bunny Ranch” and Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson and you’ll see the photos; other shots are NSFW.)

And the Ranch has attracted some famous Democrats too. But something tells me you’ll never catch Power Blue’s Allan Bartlett there.
