Rep. Loretta Sanchez Responds to Illegal Bank Forclosures on Troops

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez

The following statement was released by Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez in response to news that several banks may have foreclosed illegally on the homes of thousands of active-duty military members currently fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Data recently released by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency indicates that nearly 5,000 military members may have been improperly foreclosed upon.

“Hardworking people all across the country have been the victim of improper foreclosure, but this recent epidemic of wrongful military foreclosures is particularly atrocious,” said Sanchez.  “Soldiers have an extra layer of legal protection in mortgage lending, thanks to legislation that restricts foreclosure of properties owned by active-duty members of the military.  I will fight for these nearly 5,000 service members who have been wronged.  They deserve to get their homes back where possible and deserve monetary damages in cases where the home has been sold.  While our troops fight for us abroad, they should not have to worry about losing their homes stateside.  We must ensure that justice is served.”

    Loretta, – So therefore what?
You’re on the House Joint Economic Committee whose duties are to: “Their primary tasks are to review economic conditions and to recommend improvements in economic policy.” http://www.house.gov/jec/jecmembers.htm

Loretta, – What does, “I will fight for these nearly 5,000 service members who have been wronged,” actually mean in “politician speak”?

Loretta, – Will you complain up your political chain of command? Will you draft a letter, (with endorsements from fellow members of the Economic Committee), to President Barack Hussein Obama? Will you ask Obama to go down his political change of command to the banking regulatory committee that allows lenders to foreclose on military families? Your statement states:
“Soldiers have an extra layer of legal protection in mortgage lending, thanks to legislation that restricts foreclosure of properties owned by active-duty members of the military.”
So, Loretta what government banking oversight committee allows the lenders to violate the law? You should know. It’s your job to know.
The reason for congress’s 9% approval rating is because it talks too much, blah, blah, blah.

“New York Said to Investigate Home Foreclosures on Active Military Members”
By David McLaughlin – Nov 30, 2011 10:16 AM PT

The US Constitution, Article 2, Section 3 requires the President to, “… take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”
Laws have been broken, so why is there not a thorough investigation from the US Department of Justice and prosecutions? It’s another failure from President Barack Hussein Obama aka Barry Soetoro.
