Today Orange County Young Democrats (OCYD) announced that State Assemblyman Jose Solorio (D-Anaheim) will Chair of OCYD’s “Do It Again in 2010″ Campaign.
OCYD will implement a wide-ranging voter turnout campaign for the November 2, 2010 General Election. For the six weeks leading up to the election OCYD will organize and execute a series of canvass walks for the leading Orange County candidates who are running in competitive races.
“Young voters are the heart and soul of today’s Democratic Party. I’m investing time and resources with the Orange County Young Democrats because they work hard and their idealism is contagious. I know they’ll do an excellent job campaigning for Democrats running for partisan and non-partisan seats,” stated Assemblyman Solorio.
“Politicians often pay lip service to young voters, but it takes real leadership to back that talk up with action,” said OCYD Chair Nick Anas. ” With Assemblyman Solorio’s investment, we will be able to increase youth turnout, register new Democrats, and help elect Young Democrats running for office around the county in this critical election year.”
Below is the series of actions that the “Do It Again in 2010″ Campaign includes. Additional volunteer opportunities will be added to the calendar as the campaign grows.
