When you Carpetbag, Better Expect People to be Checking out your Digs.

In a move that can only be described as hilarious, “Admin” over at FFFF decided to drop by on the new Sidhu digs. An exchange occurred between Admin and Mrs. Sidhu which resulted in at least tentative confirmation that the Sidhu’s are sometimes at this new residence.

The exchange as described by the blogger on FFFF seemed reasonably polite and quick. So you can imagine my confusion with my fellow blogger’s post, which, if you didn’t know what happened, you’d think by reading it that some physical altercation happened. In effect it also seems to be defending Harry and chastising me for bringing Lorri’s husband/daughter into the debate because of their affiliation with the shady Eli Home.

Needless to say, I think if you carpetbag, you’d better be OK with people checking out your “home”, because  it’s gonna happen.  If these scurrilous electeds had an ethical bone in their body, you wouldn’t have needed to go, Admin. I applaud your initiative, and wish that more people in OC would act instead of just talking.

I talked to Claudio today at the Latino Legislative Caucus event that was held here, in my beautiful Anaheim (which was attended by Rose Espinoza and Tom Daly, but not Bagger Galloway), and while he disagrees with me, I find his rational for doing so, undoubtedly wrong and illogical. I think it’s clear to most reasonable people that these carpetbaggers deserve a little… special attention. I’m not going to reveal the conversation I had with him in detail… but… I might have been called Art Pedroza at one point or another… or several times.  And I might have said that I find these arguments between bloggers pathetic, are below my 21 yo standard of decent behavior.

I mean seriously, you bloggers need to get that these blogs are nothing to trouble your lives over. Your not writing in the Times. No one cares about your opinions. No one is going to take your side over someone else’s because of a disagreement on a freaking blog. Just share your story and move on. Silly bloggers.

You are unable to make an argument with respect to why “carpetbagging” is unethical. You sound so silly just saying it over and over again. Get a clue and talk about issues facing Orange County.

The blogs have done a lot for Lorri and Harry. You guys look crazy and deranged. By and large, this has been tried against Lorri before, people just feel sympathy and send her more money and into office.

The next step is to pin you crazies to Sean Nelson and Tom Daly. Then we have END GAME.

Last I checked, you’re one of those silly bloggers. It is reasonable to question whether someone lives in the district. It is not reasonable to pester the candidates family. You can tail a candidate from a fundraiser to see if they are driving into the hills, or to the home they claim to live in. Leave the family alone.

Scrutiny is fine, so long as it is of the candidate.

  3. February 19, 2010 at 8:58 am

Sorry Steve, but you are off base on this one. Tailing a candidate home to see where they sleep is creepy but necessary at times. Talking to the wife (when you are pretty sure the candidate is not home) is just this side of stalking. My husband is a mild mannered editor, but if someone came to the door and accosted me with, “Do you know what your husband does at work is wrong?!” I would be WAY creeped out. What about someone coming over and bugging Richard about something I posted to Red County? Would that be OK with you?

Steve — next time you run for Anaheim city council, I’m doing to knock on your parent’s front door and ask to take pictures of your room to make you’re still a resident. Hopefuly, the Buzz Lightyear bedspread will be gone by then.

You’re a one trick Pony here Steve. Every post is a bash on Galloway and nothing else. It appears the only reason you support Daly is becuase he’s always lived in the district. Other than that, I can’t think of a single thing you’ve written about him that would make me want to vote FOR him; all you can do is post reasons why you shouldn’t vote FOR Galloway.

Steve has repeatedly made it clear that his posts here are not based in a support for Mr. Daly, but rather a strong distaste for unethical carpetbaggers like Galloway and Sidhu.
Why do you continue to assert that all who point out negatives on the candidate you support are doing so to demonstrate support for another?
Where was Claudio’s anger years ago when a local reporter knocked on the door of Tom Umberg’s place in Villa Park and spoke with Mrs. Umberg or when others showed Lynn Daucher’s photo to her “neighbors” in Garden Grove and asked if they had ever seen her?
Checking out a questionable residence is a pretty common tactic.
It’s quite creepy that you’ve been peeking into Steve’s window to ostensibly check out his choices of bedding.

Funny how everyone forgot the point of this post. Harry and Lorri don/’t live in the FOURTH district. Don’t you get it? They don’t live in the District. In 2012 won’t both of these phonies be running for the Third District? Or maybe Dog Catcher be available to run for with Jon Dumitru, Linda Ackerman and Steve Rocco…

It is ILLEGAL to run for an elected seat in a district you do not live in. These people are phonies and they will look like IDIOTS when this is over.

No, they don’t. Lorri rents a house from the owner of Anaheim’s waste hauler (which should be a conflict as its at a huge discount) and Harry just slums it for show off his Yorba Family ranch in Anaheim hills. If you think he spends one night in his rental you are the idiot. Where do their kids go to school still? So are they lying to the school districts with their residenecy? Whoops!?

Did you really just say that nobody can explain why carpetbagging is bad? Look at the source of the word, this is from Webster’s:
          Main Entry: car·pet·bag·ger
          Pronunciation: \-ˌba-gər\
          Function: noun
Etymology: from their carrying all their belongings in carpetbags
          Date: 1868
1 : a Northerner in the South after the American Civil War usually seeking private gain under the reconstruction governments
2 : outsider; especially : a nonresident or new resident who seeks private gain from an area often by meddling in its business or politics

          — car·pet·bag·gery \-ˌba-g(ə-)rē\ noun

Can you read? Where does that say it is bad, unethical or wrong. It was actually a good thing at the time, all things considered… Southern politicians were, by and large, racist rebels and blacks needed some kind of representation.

Plus, I don’t see how Lorri and Harry fit into that definitions as they are already intimately involved in the pertinent politics. They already represent 40% of the district. More than Shawn Nelson.

I am so sick of people making baseless assertions. You guys are so dumb it hurts.

That’s the part that your wonderful candidate has the most problems with. I thought she was bad before, but when Perez pointed out that the Galloway family pulls 2 salaries from her little scam whilst her husband sits on the board, that’s just dirty!

              February 19, 2010 at 3:26 pm

You still dont get it, she is not meddling, she is already part of the district’s politics.

And what is wrong with a mother and daughter both working for the same organization. The fact that her daughter wants to follow in her foot steps is a GOOD thing.

              You people are deranged.

  7. February 19, 2010 at 3:49 pm

Is Daniel posting as “dumb” now?

First of all, Carpetbaggers did not come to the south during Reconstruction to save the freed slaves from tyranny, they descended like locusts to ravage the south of any value remaining after the war. They ran up tax rates on plantation lands so they could grab farms for pennies on the dollar after throwing out the inhabitants (including the blacks who remained on the land after the war). In southern cultures, Carpetbaggers are the lowest of the low, they feed on the misfortunes of others. In this case they just buy shoes.

As far as it being OK to have family members working for the same non-profit, you have Mother acting as Executive Director, overseeing the work of Daughter who is Development Director (chief fundraiser) which is a conflict, and then you have Husband/Father of those employees on the Board of Directors, responsible for hiring and firing staff! Plus, if Daughter fundraises for Mother’s salary, which is on some level a benefit to Husband/Father who is on the Board, the conflict runs both ways. It simply is not done by those non-profits that seek accredidation from oversight groups that ensure that a charity is acting as good stewards of donated funds.

In southern culture… “THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN”

Colony Babble does nothing but lie and spread viscous rumors. You clearly have no idea what your talking about, just saying something is bad does not make it so, especially coming from the mouth of a liar!

Tom Daly was sunk when he recruited you to back him. Again, you handed this race to Galloway.

Christina Shea hired her daughter to work for her in Irvine city hall when she was Mayor in 2000…not that Republicans complained about that.

Galloway runs a not-for-profit; plenty of not-for-profits employ multiple family members as they share a common set of value and visions. Don’t Rick Warren’s family hold positions within Saddleback?

      • Steve Perez
        February 20, 2010 at 7:51 pm

No one cares about stupid Rick Warren, or your church, or some council-member in Irvine. I know it’s hard Dan, but please try to stay on topic.

        • February 20, 2010 at 8:00 pm

Dan is on topic in the sense that he was responding to the question about nepotism and non-profits.

The effectivness of Lorri Galloway as Exectutive Director of Eli Home a matter for the board of that corportation. That board ultimately has to answer for whether the Director thsy hire effectively carries out the mission of the organization.

If the Development Director, in this case Lorri’s daughter, fails to develop the fundraising resources available to Eli Home, Lorri as to answer for that.

Sorry, such is the world of non-profit corporations. We would be better advised to focus our attention on the candidates for Supervisor abilities, or lack there of, as opposed to whether they employ their family members.

Chris, I think I would be in the best position to determine what the topic is, since I typed this up, but thanks for the objective opinion.

As for the Eli home and it’s internal workings, feel free not to blog on that matter if you feel it’s not an effective avenue to pursue.

            • February 21, 2010 at 12:55 am

Dan was responding to the point Colony Rabble made. In that context, Dan was on topic. In the context of the topic of your post, I will concede he was off topic, as was Colony Rabble (in a number of her comments).

Your selective attention to Dan because he disagreed with your frame, well that’s a bit intellectually inconsistent.

  8. February 19, 2010 at 4:49 pm

I am sorry, when did I lie? When exactly did I lie? I just posted a link to a definition from Webster’s, which is considered a primary source! And Tom Daly never recruited me for anything, I post on my own. Anyone who knows me understands it is impossible to make me do or say anything I do not passionately stand for. If anything, Shawn Nelson is likely to take this race, Sidhu and Galloway are not popular for being carpetbaggers, which you would know, Daniel, if you did not live in the 3rd District.

      February 19, 2010 at 5:31 pm

Colony Rabble attempted to spread a terrible lie about a home for abused children, she said they failed to follow up on a case where the child ended up dead. That was a lie evidenced by multiple news articles. She admitted her lie when you said they did call “twice” following up.

However, this was also a lie, because the article she posted as evidence mentioned two calls but did not say that was the extent of the home’s involvement. A reading of the article demonstrates her continued misrepresentation of the facts.

Colony Rabble has no credibility, she will lie about facts endangering services to battered children if it suits her interest. Why anyone takes her seriously is astonishing.

Keep telling yourself that. Hey, how many names can you come up with?

  9. February 19, 2010 at 9:19 pm

Isn’t this the same Claudio who posted the home address of independent congressional candidate Ceci Iglesias, right here on this blog?

Is it just me or is he being rather two-faced about this?

    • February 20, 2010 at 8:30 am

      Art – its you.

A candidate’s address is public record when they file. Harry hasn’t filed to run yet, so he isn’t officially a candidate even though we all know he’s running.

But since you brough up Ceci, I met her at Lou Correa’s event two weeks ago. She tells me no one has come to her home to threaten her or her son, which is sort of silly statement to make isn’t it? I did tell her if she was afraid about having her address published, then she has no business running for Congress.

As far as knocking on people’s doors for intimidation purposes, well, I understand you know all about that, don’t you?

Not hatred, just righteous indignation. The idea of someone using dead babies for political mileage and media coverage makes me sick. This is behavior that people of moral value SHOULD hate, there is nothing wrong with that. But while I hate the behavior, I do not hate the people connected with it. I feel compassion for them, because it appears they have lost the point of what it is they are supposed to be doing with that power and influence entrusted to them by the people of Anaheim. And at that point I must conclude that giving them even more power and influence at a County level is not going to fix what is broken, only expand it.

Steve, it is OK to leave up the comments, no matter how personal. When they are deleted then the replies appear out of context, which tweeks the conversation. If i could not take Daniel’s abuse, I would not be here. But to Daniel, I will make this offer. It is easy to despise another when you only know me as “the enemy”. To you I am a faceless electronic fly in the ointment. Blogging lacks facial expression, tone of voice and inflection, allowing us to see one another as fellow humans. I have offered in the past to meet for coffee, I would even invite you to my home for dinner, so that we can meet face to face, and I can find out why you hate me with such venom. I have never personally attacked you as an individual, I only point out, as respectfully as I can, the fallacy of your argument. For that you have labeled me a “hater”, which even young Steve here will tell you is contrary to my nature. You are welcome to continue stabbing at me with your words, which hold no effect for me because I know who I am and I know your names for me to be false. Or we can meet as people, and find some common ground, where even if we agree to disagree on political issues, we can still be civil with each other. Your call. You know how to find me. I am going to go enjoy my Sunday, because life is too short to spend it flinging angry words at each other.

Calling into question someone’s credibility by pointing out previous lies is far from abuse, its a service to the truth.

Further, read through some of the recent posting and you will find Rabble was the first to personally attack. Example: She told a handsome man named Daniel he was a bad law student. Very petty and pointless, unlike making a factual point about credibility. Example: She made a documented lie and never apologized.

Like republicans who preach about family values, when you premise your position on ethics your ethics become an issue. I wish we could talk about something more intelligent however…

            • February 22, 2010 at 7:12 am

To “Whoa”…I did indeed question the ability of young Daniel to work successfully in the field of law, as he seems incapable of putting together a coherent argument based upon facts and evidence. Name calling and finger pointing is unlikely to keep him employed in the real world. That’s not attack, just an observation. What is funny is that I made that observation on a Facebook discussion, not a public blog, which leads back to the assumption that while these posts may be coming from a variety of ISP addresses, they appear to be written by or on behalf of Daniel, in an attempt to appear as legion. The sock puppet thing is just plain silly. So are you going to take me up on my offer to meet and discuss, or are you just going to hide behind phony postings and badger me?
