While I disagree with Dan about the signiificance of Galloway’s refusal to support Senator Correa in the most competitive race in the senate, and also disagree with him about the charges of carpetbagging that Galloway faces, I hope you cut him a little slack. Dan’s a good guy who has done some good things in irvine. In fact, I would think he’d have his hands full there without getting involved in arguments with local Democrats in an area that is quite different from the off-world City of Irvine.

But he’s got every right to opine, every right to have good money chase bad. He has supported some good people in areas outside of irvine and deserves mucho props for carrying the donkey banner in ideological skirmishes with the Reps. on this blog. That doesn’t mean give him a pass or point out things like he is an outsider, but give him a little respect please.

Well, how *handy* that Galloway entered the realm of multiple homeownership just in time to meet the residency requirements for the BoS race. (Wink wink!) And now when life amidst the grit and grime of the Fourth District gets to her (for to listen to some Friends of Lorri tell it, she practically deserves a medal for driving to work on East Street every day), she’s got a handy vacation property in Anaheim Hills — Anaheim’s French Riviera!
And if you’re going to attribute Galloway’s political ineffectiveness to her being a minority on Council, how are things going to get any *better* for her on the BoS? I foresee St. Lorri taking a series of martyred only-I-can-care-so-much stands on various issues, and repeatedly getting quashed by the other four supes, whereas a more savvy and experienced pol like Daly might actually have a shot at building consensus and getting things done.

I’ll remind you Steve and Kevin, as a Democrat, Lorri is in the minority on the Anaheim City Council. And it’s not uncommon for some folks to own two (or more) homes. Steve — the video on OJ is an old one. Lorri personally told me she had nothing to do with recruiting Sue and had no knowledge of her candidacy and I believe her. But pray tell, why does any Democrat have to kiss Lou Correa’s ring? Lou is a fine senator and all that, but with Norby about to leave his BoS seat, we’ll have a real firefight on our hands. I think I’ll have to bring another check to Lorri at the Truman dinner!

So off point… and rather silly. Extending you logic, and that of the brilliant folks at O.J. …

If A endorses B then, by this act alone, B has simultaneously endorsed A’s spouse in all future races.

That is not logic, that is a absurd as it takes for granted so many steps, steps that may defy principles of time and psychics…

I really do not understand where all this bad faith is coming from… Is this conversation the reason you are interested in politics?

I am not working for Lorri, she is only a friend and mentor. I am taking time away from my studies because to blog here because I care about the democrat community in OC.

Carpetbagging originated as a term used by racist southerners agaisnt northerners who were running for office in the south advocating civil rights and economic development…

No one here has attempted to explain why carpetbagging is bad, unethical or wrong. Making their arguments void of substance.

Moreover, we can all imagine a circumstance when carpetbagging would clearly be a moral good!

Carpetbagging, since the post-civil war era, has been a campaign tool used to attack a candidate, then as now it is of questionable efficacy…

Dan doesn’t mean to be condescending Kevin. It’s just… that as a Democratic donor he feels empowered to make as strong an argument as possible for the people he donates too. Little things, like lack of ETHICAL behavior, or the fact that he doesn’t even LIVE in the district in question, or even simple LOGIC don’t have any effect on his mentality.

As a resident of Anaheim and the Fourth District, I paid a lot of attention to the candidates and issues in last year’s City Council race. I’ve attended City Council meetings and watched online (although as an occasional spectator, not a hardcore junkie). I’ve watched how Lorri put herself forward during her two big public issues — the SunCal debacle and the Disneyland labor dispute. I’ve visited her website and seen her YouTube videos. What more do I have to do before I “know” Lorri? Perhaps the problem is Lorri’s, as apparently the only way to “know” her is to touch the hem of her garment and become a true acolyte.

I see someone who’s undeniably got a lot of heart, but who isn’t a terribly effective politician. So far, she’s struck out on the issues that she went to the wall for — the SunCal mess went down in flames, and her grandstanding doesn’t seem to have brought Disney and UNITE HERE any closer to a settlement.

(Also, *HAS* she sold her house in Anaheim Hills?)

Dan- It’s obvious that you have no respect for opinions other than yours. Your rebuttals are as petulant as Daniel Lamb’s ( who is a former employee of Lorri!)
I asked you not to pretend to be an authority of my likes and dislikes and you insist on it! Is it because you are angry that my level of discourse has remained so high? While you and Daniel call others names and insinuate that I have a dislike for Lorri Galloway? This isn’t about like or dislike, its about rules and rule breakers!
