Ed Royce Town Hall

Below is some of Deborah White’s coverage of the Ed Royce Town Hall meeting from yesterday over on About.com. She tells me she will have some more posted here tomorrow (Monday).

Nazi Imagery Distributed at Rep. Ed Royce’s Town Hall

Congressman Ed Royce (CA-40)

The political lunatic fringe today are conservatives, and wow, they’re incredibly unhinged.

The sick trash at right is the cover of a 16-page magazine widely distributed on August 8, 2009 at Republican Rep. Ed Royce’s town hall in Orange County, California, which I attended. (Royce is my elected Congressman.)

The ludicrous cover depicts Adolf Hitler casting an admiring glance at President Barack Obama, who is surrounded by adoring throngs of Third Reich adherents. (Ludicrous because Hitler hated blacks, calling them sub-human.)

Inside this astonishing literature are articles entitled:

  • Obama’s ‘Pound of Flesh’: Act Now!
  • Nazi Precedent for Obama Health Plan
  • Obama’s Nazi Doctors and Their ‘Reforms’

The weird piece de resistance inside is this photo collage of “Dracula: The Godfather of
Obama’s ‘Health-Care Reformers” with head shots of Peter Orszag, Obama’s Director of the Office of Management and Budget; Larry Summers, Obama’s Director of the White House’s National Economic Council; and three other lesser known Obama administration members.

So I’m checking your archives for denunciations of the Left’s Bushitler rhetoric. Hmm, must be missing it.

I just attended the Ed Royce townhall myself, and the only ones with Hitler or Nazi material were Lyndon LaRouche supporters, (left-wing socialists.) LaRouche is associated with the Democratic party having run 7 times for their nomination for President. Ed Royce denounced these individuals and explicitly stated that although he does rightly oppose the single payer option currently being discussed he does not agree with anyone that would characterize it as a Nazi plan. Either you are willfully misleading your readers, or you are willfully ignorant. Whatever the case, the material displayed on your own page above refutes the claim that these people are conservatives. Notice LaRouche written in the bottom left corner of the ObamaHitler photo above. Clean it up. Your account of events is sloppy at the very least and an outright lie at the most.
