Gavello Discovers Tustin Investment Policies Were Politically Motivated.

In the YouTube below (h/t OCProgressive), Tustin Councilwoman Deborah Gavello asks questions regarding the city investment decision making process and discovers that the decision to withdraw Tustin investments from the County investment pool prior to the 2008 election was politically motivated.

The boys on the Council (all Republican) just cannot stand it when they have to answer tough questions. In the case of Mayor Doug Davert, he tries to restate history to say something different from what the Treasurer says happened.

Jerry AmanteThis Jerry Amante guy, isn’t he one of the people who squeeled like a stuck pig about the budget cuts that the Republican in the legislature were forcing on cities because they were unwilling to negotiate any budget deal other than a “Cuts Only” deal.  Isn’t he running to be one of those Republican Assemblymen who cut city budgets? I wonder if his outrage over the raid on city funds through Prop 1A was in any way “politically motivated?”

With his statement dressing down Ms Gavello, Jerry Amante just proved he lacked the temperment to be elected to a higher office. And for the Mayor to suggest Gavello’s business has an interest was frankly deplorable.
