Santa Ana Mailbox: The Nutty Pedroza

October 29, 2008
By Chris Prevatt

This mail piece hit yesterday slamming Art Pedroza’s bid for City Council in Santa Ana.

The Nutty Pedroza Side 1

The Nutty Pedroza Side 2

It’s really kind of fun to watch Pedroza crow that, since a hit piece was sent out by an independent expenditure group against him, his campaign is actually viable.

Love how Art is complaining about “out of context” quotes. Pots calls Kettle black.

There hasn’t actually been much complaining that I hear, those are pretty fun quotes. Obviously some over-the-top. Somewhat like the things Al Franken has said over the years that are coming up now (and not hurtin Al.)

I think it’s also kind of hard for Art to feel too sorry for himself on a day when he picked up Lou Correa’s endorsement. It’s all good…

    Vern,

Lou Correa’s last minute endorsement of a candidate who has no money to get that word out really doesn’t help much. The IE is probably more effective in supporting Art’s campaign than Lou’s endorsement.

From what I know of the mailer, it has nothing to do with any perceived threat that Art poses to Busty. Busty is a jerk, and does not deserve to be a Councilman.

Art doesn’t have the qualities of integrity, ethics, or common sense to hold the office either. His post about the drunk driver in Anaheim named Bustamante is all the proof that anyone should need of that fact.

The fact that Cunningham was able to pull together a group of donors to fund the mailer is more a testament to the level of disgust that people have of Art’s antics than evidence of Bustamante’s vulnerability.

That group of donors includes some who have grudges against Art for the support he has provided to protect taxpayers, to defend neighborhoods and to champion personal privacy. Great group huh?
