Korean American Center Executive Director calls on Choi to Apologize for CAIR Comment

Dae Yoon, the executive director of the Korean American Center in Los Angeles, is calling on Irvine City Council member Steven Choi to “withdraw his comments about CAIR and apologize.”

Dae Yoon by Korean Resource Center 민족학교.

Contacted by The LiberalOC.com, Yoon said its its unfortunate that Dr. Choi refuses to meet with CAIR over his comments or withdraw his comments calling CAIR a terrorist organization.  At a recent Irvine Chamber of Commerce candidate’s breakfast, Choi warned the public against supporting a candidate with ties to a “dangerous and Islamic” organization, referring to Council Candidate Todd Gallinger’s connection with the Southern California chapter of CAIR.

“CAIR is a good organization that does a lot of good work in this community,” said Yoon.  “We have worked with them a number of times.”

Yoon continued, “As an incumbent council member, Choi is elected to serve the community.  His comments about CAIR are out of line and don’t make sense.  He should be more honorable and watch what he says.”

Yoon left a comment on a blog authored by So Cal chapter CAIR executive director Hussam Ayloush which said:

“I am so so terribly shocked and disappointed by council candidate Mr. Choi’s comments.

As the incumbent city councilmember, it is very hard to believe Mr. Choi publicly commented baseless accusation to CAIR.

I truly believe Mr. Choi must make a formal apologize to CAIR as well as his constituent if he really works for the people in his community.”

The Liberal OC contacted Yoon and confirmed the comment as his.

Dae Yoon is either willfully blind, lying, or a fool.

    CAIR was created for Hamas.

CAIR Chairman Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad have been under FBI investigation. They attended a Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood meeting where the FBI said “all attendees of this meeting are Hamas members or sympathizers.”

    http://www.investigativeproject.org/documents/misc/109.pdf

Omar Ahmad discussed at this meeting of forming a lobbying group that would “bolster our position in America with the U.S. Administration and other media and political organizations.” (Note: Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad formed CAIR the following summer.)

“This can be achieved by infiltrating the American media outlets, universities and research centers …if Muslims engage in political activism in America and started to be concerned with Congress and public relations we will have an entry point to use them to pressure Congress and the decision-makers in America”

Later, CAIR founder and Chairman Omar Ahmad said:

Omar Ahmad (A.K.A. “Omar Yehya”) and Shukri Abu Baker discussed with others at the Philadelphia Meeting the need to hide their affiliation with Hamas by using the name “Samah” instead.

    Shukri Abu Baker explains:

“Samah (Hamas backwards) … Samah is classified a terrorist (organization). By constitution, by law, if I wanted to adopt it’s work, they kick me out, they kick me out of this country…”

Shukri Baker later makes additional comments:

“I cannot say to him that I am Hamas.”

“You can go meet a congressman in your name, in Omar (Ahmad)’s name
of the Association…and tell him, ‘(Yassir Arafat) doesn’t represent us.
    Mr. Ahmad Yasin represents us'”

    (A committee member objects):

    “You cannot say that …”

At the Philadelphia Meeting, Omar Ahmad discussed the ease of “registering” organizations in America. He then mentioned not having enough people to do the type work they want to “hide”.

“Registering an organization is easy. I can register 100 organizations in 100 cities in one day…”

“I mean, we don’t really have available people whom we could dedicate for the work we want to hide…”

It never ceases to amaze me who people will align themselves with in order to obtain power.

Steven Choi does not approve of the terror-front CAIR. He is on the side of truth.

Dae Yoon will sell out his country and fellow citizens to get in bed with CAIR

    nice

Keep sending the links Troy; no one is reading them. Care to condemn the president’s remarks on CAIR too?

cair is a great organization that works to build bridges and has been recognized by the fbi as an important partner. comments that mischaracterize cair as well as insult dae yoon are offensive. we need more community leaders and organizations, like dae and cair, to promote cross-cultural understanding if we want national security, not fear-spreading posters.

    Dear L Oh,

    Get a clue.

Better yet, I’ll give you one:

“FBI: CAIR is a Front Group” (Oct 7, 2008 Dallas Morning News)

    http://crimeblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/10/fbi-cair-is-a-front-group-and.html

FBI Special Agent Lara Burns was going over more transcripts from the Philadelphia meeting — the 1993 gathering of Holy Land officials and Hamas sympathizers that the government contends was meant to brainstorm ways to downplay the Foundation’s extremist ties — when talk turned to a passage from defendant Shukri Abu Baker.

He is quoted on the wiretap transcript talking about how it would be beneficial to have more traditional, secular American organizations to help spread the Islamist message.

He and others envisioned an “alternative” organization “which can benefit from a new atmosphere, one whose Islamic hue is not very conspicuous,” he said according to the transcript.

Prosecutor Barry Jonas asked Burns whether any groups formed after the Philadelphia gathering fit this mold. “CAIR,” she said….

Troy, wow, a special agent’s testimony becomes policy for the entire FBI. Its one agent’s opinion and not that of the entire organization nor the Federal Governemt. Try not to get a cramp when you stretch this far.

I also note the Korea media has picked up the story; who do you think they will side with? The executive director of the Korean Resource Center in LA, a man highly respected in the Korean community, or a bigoted city councilor.

I hear Todd Gallinger has been invited to appear on a KUCI radio program Friday; Choi too has been invited. Do you think he’ll have the testicular fortitude to show up? I don’t.

    Dan,

You can keep moving the goalpost and I’ll keep driving the ball to the end zone.

One FBI Agent’s testimony from an Investigation completed by several dozen agents over several years and costing several millions of dollars.

The facts are clear. CAIR = HAMAS.
Every single CAIR Chapter was created for Hamas.

I know your head explodes with that notion but it is the truth.

It’s ok, Dan, we “get it” that you care more about Power than your fellow countrymen and America – and you will defend Hamas Symps to the end.
