The following email was just sent out to Democratic Party of Orange County Central Committee members by Garden Grove City Council candidate Robin Marcario.
Dear Central Committee Members,
I would like to thank you for your support in my candidacy for Garden Grove City Council. I am working hard walking precincts every day, attending every event that is humanly possible, and cultivating support among diverse groups in Garden Grove.
I am also honored to be endorsed by Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez. We are making tremendous strides in our community and I believe that I am now among the frontrunners in this race based on the feedback we are getting from the voters we’re speaking with on a daily basis. We have recruited over two dozen volunteers who are busy helping me with voter contact and are committed to helping me get elected so that I can represent the voters of our fair city. I am confident that the work we are doing will be successful on election day.
Tonight, the Central Committee has scheduled a vote to endorse a second City Council candidate in our race. After the results of the last endorsement vote, I’ve decided that it is in the best interest of our party if we are seen as united and supportive of the emerging Democratic-registered voter population in the Vietnamese community. It is for this reason that I have decided to withdraw from the Democratic Party of Orange County’s endorsement process.
I look forward to talking with you this evening.
