Robert Novak-Hit & Runs a Pedestrian

One of Jon Fleischman’s big heroes is a lousy driver.  Columnist Robert Novak hit a pedestrian in DC today and ran, claiming he didn’t know he hit anyone.

Novakula Robert Novak Hit & Runs a Pedestrian

“I didn’t know I hit him. … I feel terrible,” a shaken Novak told reporters from Politico and WJLA as he was returning to his car. “He’s not dead, that’s the main thing.” Novak said he was a block away from 18th and K streets Northwest, where the accident occurred, when a bicyclist stopped him and said he had hit someone. He said he was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

The only problem with this statement by Novak is that the man he hit, a 66-year old, rolled over the windshield of his Corvette.  And the victim’s condition s worsening.

Novak was stopped a block away, but no field sobriety test was administered.  Egad!  Maybe he was late for a date with Ann Coulter.

Goddammit Dan, you beat me to that story. Well fine, I’ve got my own twist on it…

Someone, I forget who, defined character as what you do when no one is watching. Now we have confirmation on Novak’s.
